Drama

 We have been doing this for a week or 2 it is acting it is a bully scarped and the girls name that are doing the bullying stryk kuff boot grynd and they are wating for the bus and they say in the scraped that they are gonna get the little red head kid brodie boot  nuu stryk tom grynd me kuff.

Method 

1. Collectd and set up the beaker and ruler 

2. Got the 1st liquid and put 100ms in the beaker 

3. Put the mentos  into the liquid

4.measurd the hight of the fizz 

5. repet steps 1-4 

Chromarography

 Chromatography is a techinque for the separation of a mixture by passing it in the soolution or suspension through a medium in which move all differnt rates.

Aim. To seprate the colours from the skittles by using chromatography.

materials 

1.5  skittles

2 water 

3 petri dish

4 baker 

proces.

step 1 Get your equipment set up ready to pour the 50mla of water into the petri dish with the skittles .

step 2 place the skittles into the petri dish around the edges

step 3 pour 50mls water gently into the middle of the perti dish 

step 4 watch as the water removes the dye from the skittles see witch colour reaches the middle fastet 

step 5 record your reulst on the table below.

Math

 This week and last week we have been doing Geometry and we created these things called angry birds. We had to fold them in half which took us about 30mins to 1 hour. I did it with Hollie, Kaycee and Addison. It has been very much fun this week.  Do you think it's a good way to study shapes?

Osmosis - Gummy Bears

 Gummy Bears

Osmosis: The movement of solvent through the wall of a solid.

Aim

I want to find out what happens to Gummy Bears when we put them into different liquids.

Perdition

I think that Gummy Bears will shrink or grow in the liquids 

Equipment

1. Three solutions - water, sugar and salt 

2. four Gummy Bears of the same colours   

3. Two Petri Dishes

4. Marker Pen

5. Electronic Balance 

6. Measuring Cylinder 

7. Beaker  

If you put water in a cup then put a gummy bear in it what will happen  in my opinion it will  get a lot more smaller leave a comment telling me what you think.

steps 

1.Get your equipment 

2. Label Petri dishs wth DRY, SALT water, SUGAR Water

3. Weight the gummy bears and record their weight on the peri dish 

4. add 40mL of the solution into Petri dishs

The water that was included in the first gummy bear petri dish made the gummy bear change from a dry weight of 2.52 to a wet weight of 8.83.

The salt water petri dish from a dry 2.48 to a wet 5.19.

The sugar water petri dish from a dry 2.46 to a wet 4.81 

The gummy bear that changed the most was the gummy bear in the sugar water.

Floods

Here is some news about recent floods (29-31 May 2021).

Last week we have been getting a lot of rain  and people have been called to move out of their houses and in Ashburton half of the town have been told to move out of there and their river is flooded up to the bridge. It is getting very dangerous and in the gutters it is flooding, but in Hornby at this time we are good. It is getting hotter.

Here are some pictures to show how serious the flooding was. Were you bothered by the floods?

8.bubble the gas into the water

9.scop the bubbles but never the water

10. Hold the bubbles in front of your face with yours arms locked
